US partner country of
COMPOSITES EUROPE 2015 and
1st International Composites Congress
The United States of America will be the partner country of this year's COMPOSITES EUROPE, which will take place in Stuttgart from 22 to 24 September. The US will also sponsor the 1st International Composites Congress, which on 21 and 22 September will kick off the trade fair. An agreement to that effect has been concluded by trade fair organiser Reed Exhibitions, the industry association Composites Germany and the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA).

Serving as the partner country, the US will be able to showcase the expertise of the country's industry while at the same time calling attention to market opportunities available in the US to companies from Europe. With more than 500,000 workers and annual turnover of $70 billion, the US composites market is the largest in world. ACMA, which represents a sector with more than 3,000 companies, is the largest industry association worldwide and is the co-producer with SAMPE of CAMX: The Composites and Advanced Materials Expo, the largest event in the US for the global industry. ACMA has already been a COMPOSITES EUROPE partner since 2011.
"Right now, the dynamic growth of the US economy is driving demand for all types of fiber composite materials. We are seeing especially strong growth in the transportation, aeronautics, automotive, and construction sectors and expect this to continue. Additionally, other market segments such as marine are continuing to recovery from the recession. ACMA is pleased to be representing our membership and the US composites industry at these two events in Germany", says Tom Dobbins, President of ACMA.
With a Keynote-Speech ACMA will participate as well in the International Composites Congress, enhancing the international orientation of the event. "We can best illustrate the potential and the opportunities offered by fibre-reinforced plastics by joining forces internationally. Together with the US, our partner country, we aim to initiate a bilateral dialogue between the composites industry's strongest markets", says Dr. Elmar Witten, a Composites Germany management spokesman. Besides efficient production processes, key topics discussed at the 1st International Composites Congress will include cooperation opportunities in industry and research, innovative applications, recycling and market trends.
