Record GrindTec 2012
causes a right run on exhibition space
This is the leading trade fair of the grinding technology industry and the last event GrindTec 2012 was the most successful so far - especially for the exhibitors, of whom around 80 per cent assessed their participation as "very good" or "good". For Joachim Kalsdorf, the Project Manager of the GrindTec, this great success of the participating companies is the reason for the unprecedented run on exhibition space: "Ever since we mailed the documentation in January of this year we have already received more than 200 applications for stands. A considerable amount of the companies require larger stands, and so far nobody has asked for a smaller space. We have noticed that it is the market-leading manufacturers of grinding machines who are increasing their stand size significantly, in some cases by up to 50 %! And the large increase in interest coming from the Asian markets is not to be overlooked
Market leaders are placing their bets on the specialised trade fair GrindTec
The recent more detailed definition of the range of exhibits with nine sub-divisions has been welcomed by the representatives of the industry without exception. This conclusion can be drawn from our meetings with the market leaders. And a further aspect: Important new developments are preferably introduced at the GrindTec - and not at the EMO. In addition, it is not a problem for the GrindTec exhibitors when trade fair dates of exhibitions with similar topics coincide with the dates of the GrindTec, as the representatives of these companies point out: The GrindTec clearly has priority for them.
"Tool-grinder of the year" - the grinding competition in Augsburg for the fifth time
Together with the exhibitor Walter Maschinenbau GmbH and the FDPW Academy, the trade journal "fertigung" will be organising the competition "Tool-grinder of the year". It is already the fifth time that they are looking for the best cutting-tool mechanic in the German-speaking countries. In addition to improving the image of this high-tech trade, one of the main aims is to interest young people in this industry. The much-awaited finals are held at the Grind-Tec 2014. The five surviving finalists after the previous heats will be making a complex tool in front of the general public.
