Number 1 Industry Meet
with Record Breaking Exhibitor Numbers
In many respects, record breaking participation is becoming apparent for the 12th Optatec international trade fair for optical technologies, components and systems, which will be held at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre from the 20th through the 22nd of May, 2014: a growth rate of 11% for manufacturers and distributors with roughly 540 exhibitors at the moment, 5% growth in exhibition floor space and high levels of internationalism with exhibitors from 28 countries! The Optatec is thus firming up its position as the number 1 industry meet and is further distinguishing itself from events with a manufacturing or polytechnical orientation, which only deal with the complex issues of the optical technologies as a side-line, and are usually restricted to a limited range of applications in this respect.
"We look forward to welcoming lots of new exhibitors", emphasised project manager Karen Waldow in a brief statement concerning the current status of the number 1 industry meet for the live presentation of optical technologies, components and systems in theory and in actual practice. And the fact that participation of foreign manufacturers, distributors and institutions has increased to 53% makes it plainly apparent that Optatec has not only been globally accepted as an information, communication and business platform, it's making further advances in this area as well. Worldwide offerings will be presented primarily by exhibitors from Germany who make up 47% of the exhibiting companies, followed by China with 13% and the USA with 12%, as well as Switzerland and England with 7% each.
The star studded supplementary programme which will accompany Optatec 2014 can be seen as further substantiation of growing internationalism. Highly competent, in some cases longstanding active partners such as the Spectaris German Industry Association for Photonics and Precision Engineering (workshop on current developments concerning DIN ISO 10110 and a "Stakeholders' Meeting" with Spectaris members), the technology park on "Training and Research - Study Photonics" offered by numerous German universities, the Optence Innovations Forum as a marketplace for ideas and OptecNet's "Startup Challenge" will round out trade fair offerings which are unequalled anywhere in the world. Finally, the CEO Round Table represents a special highlight which will bear the title "Photonics as a Key Technology: the Markets with the Best Opportunities" this year.
Further information regarding technologies, products, modules, subsystems and complete solutions will be imparted by the time-tested Optatec Exhibitor Forum, which will be fully occupied on all trade fair days and emphatically supports technology and knowledge transfer from the quotation right on through to the actual application. And thus the Optatec international trade fair for optical technologies, components and systems is extremely well prepared and positioned to demonstrate highly practical solutions to expert visitors from countries all over the world on the basis of current and future-oriented optical technologies.
