COMPOSITES EUROPE
showcases wind energy solutions
The intersecting worlds of wind energy, renewables and trade fairs are his home turf. Now Hanno Fecke (51) has been enlisted as COMPOSITES EUROPE's "Wind Energy Ambassador". The move reflects the continuously expanding commitment to the wind energy sector embraced by the European Trade Fair for Composites, Technology and Applications, which from 7 to 9 October will host more than 440 exhibitors from 25 countries in Düsseldorf.

"In Hanno Fecke we've gained one of the most prominent organisers of wind energy trade fairs for COMPOSITES EUROPE", says Annkathrin Lange, project director of COMPOSITES EUROPE. Already today, nearly one in seven COMPOSITES EUROPE visitors are wind energy professionals seeking information on materials solutions, manufacturing processes and maintenance options.
"Wind power is faced with the challenges resulting from steadily increasing cost pressure", says Fecke in explaining his move. "Automation and series production require innovation and new materials." The products and services on display at COMPOSITES EUROPE are the tools that will enable the technological and economic advancement shaping the wind energy of the future.
Fecke has climbed the ranks of the trade fair business. For over seven years he's worked for Preuss Group as an advertising specialist in the international stand construction industry. In 2002 he was appointed managing director of Messe Husum. Under his leadership, HUSUM WindEnergy, the world's leading wind energy trade fair, emerged as the wind sector's international flagship event. He's also overseen the development of the renewable energy trade fair New Energy Husum.
After switching jobs to become managing director of Messe Offenburg - which organises the leading international geothermal trade fair, among other events - he founded the tri-national trade fair Windenergie expo & congress.
