COMPOSITES EUROPE 2015
brings again special areas "Product Demonstration Area"
and "Industry meets Science"
Step right up: COMPOSITES EUROPE 2015 will once again bring leading companies and research institutes to its two special areas, the "Product Demonstration Area" and "Industry meets Science". Just like the composites trade fair itself, the Product Demonstration Area is celebrating an anniversary this year: for the tenth time already, it will offer visitors a chance to test, explore and, above all, touch products. The two special areas will showcase complex processes along with highlights from the world of composites, yet again making them visitor magnets at the trade fair, which will take place in Stuttgart from 22 to 24 September this year.
Every hour, exhibitors will demonstrate their products and processes at the Product Demonstration Area in Hall 7. Evonik Industries will be one of them. The specialty chemicals experts offer ultramodern lightweight construction designs and manufacture drive shafts made from composite materials, among other items.
The Institute of Aircraft Design at the University of Stuttgart, which researches and teaches aircraft design, lightweight design, manufacturing technology and wind energy, will also be featured at the special area. From prototypes to mass-produced items, Piekenbrink Composites delivers composites components for the aeronautics and defence industry.
A veteran at the Product Demonstration Area is Solingen-based RH Schneidtechnik, a company specialising in solutions for industrial and artisanal cutting tasks. The Euro-RTM-Group is a working group focussed on forward-looking processing technologies for producing components from glass-fibre reinforced plastic (GFRP).
The BÜFA Group are experts for high-quality composites and the equipment technology required to make them. The company develops innovative system solutions - some of them individually tailored - that encompass service, technology and expertise.
Industry meets ScienceThe lectures and demonstrations will be supplemented by the Product Demonstration Area Expo in Hall 3, featuring a variety of additional exhibits.
Everything in the special "Industry meets Science" area, which after its successful debut in 2014 will return for a second time this year under direction of the Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV), revolves around the latest developments and highlights in the areas process technology, dimensioning, quality assurance and repair.
Participants including the Aachen Center for Integrative Lightweight Production (AZL), the Institute for Textile Technology (ITA), the Institute for Automotive Engineering Aachen (ika), the Welding and Joining Institute (ISF), the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology (ILT), the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (IPT) and the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of RWTH Aachen will cover the entire value chain from fibre production to quality assurance.
