New online analysis system
The new Bürkert Type 8905 Online Analysis System is used by water utilities to continuously monitor and record essential water parameters, both in untreated and treated water before it is fed into the distribution network. The SDI/MFI Convergence Inspector made by the Dutch manufacturer Convergence Industry has been designed to exploit the advantages of the MFI (0.45) and to minimise human error where it cannot be completely avoided. The JD Series Dehydrator made by EKOTON in Lithuania is ideal for communal and industrial applications and is suitable for replacing older drainage equipment using screw compressors.
Compact downhole video camera system
The QDFU-PI made by the Italian company G2 misuratori is a semi-dry protected single-jet meter for use with ½ -inch and ¾ -inch pipes which can be integrated into a wireless network system. At WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL 2015 the UK-based company Geoquip Water Solutions is showcasing its latest product, the Laval SC-350, a portable and compact downhole video camera system. A tunnel-boring machine (TBM) made by Herrenknecht was recently used to bore a tunnel for the water supply to Las Vegas, USA and was required to withstand water pressure of up to 15 bar.
Innovative CloudFisher
With its CloudFisher the WasserStiftung foundation has developed a fog collector that collects drinking water from fog without external energy sources. It can be used in arid mountainous and coastal regions around the world that experience prolonged periods of foggy weather. The new MACO heating element made by WIDOS has been on the market since January 2015 and can be used with practically every welding machine suitable for pipes of up to OD 63 mm. According to the manufacturer it represents a span step forward in welding equipment development. According to the exhibitor, the new multi-stage Leopold Oxelia treatment system is the only one of its kind worldwide, reduces organic carbon compound and micro-pollutant content and kills off pathogens
Other Trade Fair Highlights
The innovative synthetic fibre liner with LED curing process devised by the Danish Per Aarsleff AS company combines the advantages of a thermal-curing synthetic fibre liner and of UV-curing fibreglass liner systems. As part of the ZeroCarbFP project Emschergenossenschaft and BRAIN have been examining how to make use of wastewater using organisms. At WASSER BERLIN Allianz der öffentlichen Wasserwirtschaft will be revealing the initial results. Berlin's water supply utility monitors the quality of domestic water at its water works with the help of a dense network that conducts real-time measurement and analysis, and now also employs freshwater shrimps in its new biotoximeter .
The Phocus3 sound logging system made by Esders comprises contact sound microphones with a data logging function, a portable smart recorder and PC software. It allows users to monitor and listen to data on the move, and using GPS data to display maps of the inspected network area on a PC. At WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL 2015 the European Association for Ductile Iron Pipe Systems EADIPS® is unveiling the latest, updated e-book on cast iron ductile pipe systems. At WASSER BERLIN the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology (IGB) is presenting its new concept for semi-decentralised water management.
iSAtech's Prepaid Water Meter is a smart system for dispensing prepaid amounts of water and can operate independently without electricity over a period of several years. With its new CTD ver¬sions of the high-precision DCX level data loggers for depths of up to 200 m, KELLER AG für Druckmesstechnik now has a highly integrated, all-in-one measurement solution on the market. The new SOFREL LT-US data logger made by LACROIX in France provides users with many options, including continuous measurement of wastewater levels in sewers and detection of overflow in combined wastewater sewers. At WASSER BERLIN MegaSecur.Europe, another company from France, is presenting its Water-Gate product. This consists of cleverly adapted sheets of PVC and exploits the principle of 'water blocks water'.
Neutralox® Photoionisation makes it possible to neutralise odours in a highly efficient manner and to use the heat resulting from thermal reaction to warm up incoming air. The NivuFlow 750 is one of a new range of intelligent wastewater flow measurement transducers which NIVUS is exhibiting at WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL 2015. The ISIFLO-Sprint is a coupling system made of fibre-reinforced polyamide (PA) that combines the strength and rigidity of metal with the user-friendly assembly of push-in fittings.
Whether they have concrete, ceramic, PVC, PP, cast iron, fluted, ribbed or smooth surfaces, pipe lengths of any kind can be joined together in no time at all using AWADUKT FLEX-CONNECT pipe couplings. New GW-Base 9 software collects and manages every type of data deriving from water monitoring projects, for example water level data, runoff and discharge data, data analysis data and climate data. According to iPERL, the company's introduction of the Sensus is the key to an intelligent water supply network and data communications for walk-by/drive-by meter-reading and provides water supply utilities with forward-looking solutions.
With its new ICPE-9800 series of simultaneous ICP atomic emission spectrometers, Shimadzu Europa is exhibiting a rapid and simple multi-element analysis method for checking water samples at WASSER BERLIN INTERNATIONAL 2015. According to the exhibitor, the in-house developed Premodrill well-drilling rig series made by STDS-Jantz opens up new possibilities for well-drilling that surpass conventional drilling technology. The TrojanUVTelos™ UV water treatment system made by Trojan Technologies fulfils the expectations of energy-conscious users who require low-maintenance products and is suitable for use in small communities.
